Draping Final 2
Iridescence is my first-ever sewn garment in finished fabric, created for my Spring 2024 draping final. Inspired by the vibrant beauty of the peacock, the national bird of my home country, India, this design features an organza sleeveless top and a fully layered fringe pant, capturing the iridescent hues and graceful movement of the bird’s feathers. Sewing with proper fabric for the first time was both exciting and nerve-wracking, pushing me to refine my skills and creativity. This project marked a significant milestone in my design journey, blending inspiration with technical growth.

Draping Final 1
Introducing my first fully sewn and draped design, created for my Fall ‘23 draping final during my first year of my AAS degree in Florence, Italy. This muslin princess dress features cold sleeves and a front detail inspired by the fluidity of a wave splash, incorporating structured collar and cuff elements from classic shirt design. Additionally, I designed a swimwear collection centered around the same theme, exploring various silhouettes and wave-inspired fluidity. This project marks the beginning of my sewing journey and was an invaluable learning experience.

Stetson " Reimagining the west " Contest
During the fall semester, I participated in the Stetson ‘Reimagining the West’ Design Contest, where I created two fashion looks inspired by a Western aesthetic and the iconic Stetson hat. For this project, I blended elements of Middle Eastern aesthetics with the Wild West, calling it ‘Mirage.’ I was honored to be recognized among the top finalists and was awarded for my work. This experience marked my first time working with a design budget, offering valuable insights into garment construction, material sourcing, and financial planning. It also strengthened my skills in time management, stress management, and balancing multiple priorities, which I look forward to applying in future design projects.

Robert Wun Brand Research
For this project, I conducted in-depth brand research on Robert Wun and curated a collection titled Nacreous. Inspired by the transformative journey of a pearl emerging from its shell, the collection explores themes of growth, emergence, and self-discovery. I aimed to experiment with new ideas while staying true to the elegant and sculptural silhouettes that define Robert Wun's work. The result is a collection that blends innovative design with the signature style of the brand, reflecting both my creative exploration and respect for the designer's established aesthetic.

Rick Owens Brand Research
For this project, I conducted extensive research on Rick Owens and curated a collection titled Dark Desires. This collection explores the duality of love, showcasing how it can bring out both the brightest and darkest sides of a person. Its capacity to inspire passion and beauty, as well as pain and vulnerability. Delving into Rick Owens' unique aesthetic, I found it fascinating to reinterpret his bold, avant-garde style while adding my own spin. The result is a collection that captures the raw, edgy essence of Owens' designs while exploring the complex emotional depth of love through a fresh lens.
